  • The State of Oregon provides this tuition waiver to qualifying dependents or spouses of a service member who either died during active duty, became 100% disabled in connection with military service, or died as a result of a disability sustained during active duty.

The student requesting this waiver must be in good standing and meeting VA Benefits academic progress requirements. This waiver is available to students admitted to a certificate or degree program only and will cover a maximum of 67 credits for a one year certificate or 135 credits for a two year associate degree. The waiver covers tuition and mandatory fees only. Any course fees not covered are the responsibility of the student. Eligibility for VA Chapter 35 Dependents Education Assistance (DEA) will not be used as a verification or disqualification for the tuition waiver.

An enrollment verification form must also be completed each term the student wishes to apply the tuition waiver.

Dual enrolled students are only eligible to receive the waiver for classes attended at LBCC as long as LBCC is their declared home school.
